UEFA EURO 2016
France v Romania
Stade de France -St Denis
Paris, France
10 June 2016
The long awaited tournament in France was my first Euros following England as I bottled it in 2012 amidst safety concerns and high accommodation charges. Never again! The tournament would take place from 10 Jun to 10 Jul 16 starting with the Opening Match.
We really pushed the boat out for this one as we decided to go for CAT 1 tickets at 445 Euros each for the Opening Game of EURO 2016, France v Romania. A great experience but I vow never to spend that kind of money again for 90 minutes of entertainment, a promise I would later break.
Stade de France is the largest stadium in France with a capacity of 81,338. It would host the opening match and final, along with the following Group games: Germany v Poland, Republic of Ireland v Sweden and Iceland v Austria. During the Knockout phase it hosted 2 games: Italy v Spain (Round of 16) and France v Iceland (Quarter Final) and as already mentioned, Portugal v France in the Final.

Time was precious so we 'bee lined' to the Stade de France via the RER D Line. Luckily it was a normal service allowing us time for a beer at the Stade de France Metro station.
