Leganes v Real Betis, Madrid (South)

Primera Division (La Liga)
Club Deportivo Leganes v Real Betis
Estadio Municipal Butarque
Leganes, Spain
8 May 2017

Leganes need a victory to ensure the fight for La Liga survival continues. The hosts have won just once in nine but a victory will almost guarantee survival as they have a far better goal difference than Sporting Gijon, who occupy the final drop spot with 2 matches left

Leganes 4 Real Betis 0
Attendance: 9443

On a warm night just 11km South of Madrid the Leganes fans were treated to a festival of goals. It started with a converted penalty scored by Alexander Szymanowski in the 7th minute following a hand ball, then on 15 mins Nabil El Zahr tucks the ball under the on rushing keeper following a neat build up. in the 2nd Half Leganes continued their dominance when on 65 minutes Gabriel Pires dispossesses a defender on the half way line and then chips the keeper from 35 yards. Then on 80 minutes Szymanowski gets his brace when he tackles a defender by the corner flag and then dribbles all the way to the penalty area before sinking the ball over the keeper. Legates are now 6 points clear of the relegation zone.
