Entrance to the stadium is achieved via tickets downloaded to a smartphone. Keep your bluetooth on and as you go through the various cordons the E ticket is activated.
Despite modern technology the searches take too long and there is mayhem in the England end. They just can't cope with the 15000 English.
10 minutes before Kick Off and
been queuing for an hour already.
It is getting fractious at gate 4 (South Stand). But at last we get in the stadium after the crowd surged and the Police quickly opened the gates to avoid a crush.
North Stand
Rashford lining up a pen after he was brought down in the 32nd minute by De Liga the Ajax skipper.Rashford came close to a second goal in the first half which proved costly.

In the 2nd Half Harry Kane replaced the injured Rashford but could not get on the scoresheet. It was the Dutch who equalised as De Ligt made amends when he headed home a corner from Memphis Depay.
In the 82nd minute Jessie Lingard thought he had sealed the win for England but the goal was narrowly ruled out for offside by VAR. At full time the score was 1:1.
During extra time England committed suicide in front of goal when John Stones was caught in possession by Depay who fired passed Pickford. England were caught at the back for a second time when Roass Barkley surrendered possession with a miscued pass that allowed Depay to square for Promes who bundled the ball over the line via a definitive touch from Walker.
The best team won but a rude awakening to VAR.

Of the two locations I would suggest that Porto was better equipped to deal with the challenges of so many fans. Especially, the unique challenges that come with hosting Europe's best supported national team. The smaller location of Guimaraes would burst at the seams as it struggled to cope, but cope it did and the locals made us all feel very welcome indeed.

Every man and his dog was in Portugal for this encounter. There were over 15,000 Super Bock swilling England fans in Guimaraes. The tickets were electronic that you had to download onto a smart phone. Modern technology 💩
